rhythms of the home winter edition

I have two short articles in the online publication Rhythms of the Home. One article is about celebrating teenagerhood with my son and the other is about using prayer flags in the grieving process. Have a look.

Ever since I was a child, I've collected small little treasures--from the sea, from trees, from vines. My activity of collecting has changed as I've grown. I still collect a pocketful of conkers/buckeyes every Autumn, but more and more I've turned toward collecting different things--stories, ideas, small moments of meaning. My eyes are more open to catching beauty and my ears more open to collecting wisdom. I just wish my pockets were big enough to hold it all.

I have a full and busy life, but in between all the encouraging, the feeding, the exploring, the negotiating, and the listening that comes with the landscape of mothering and home educating four children, I collect.

This is the space where I try to make sense of my daily inner (and outer) walk.
